Ghost Girl, a novel by Tonya Hurley
"All the world is just high school." -- Shakespeare (not really)
Are you an unrepped writer, who just wants to get noticed and paid for your work? We totally get it. So does author Tonya Hurley. Her book Ghost Girl takes us back to that time in school when we wanted so desperately to be one of the cool kids. To go to their parties and laugh at their jokes. To be SEEN.
We are huge fans of young adult lit and satire, and this story has both! Charlotte Usher (that's right, Gothic homage abounds in this book...love it!) is a heroine hellbent in making the most of things, even her Afterlife. When her life doesn't turn out the way she hopes, she has to make the most it and isn't that what every writer does? Take your rejections and turn them into inspiration. But first, read this book.
We absolutely love Charlotte's (dare we say) spirit!
Just One Question... For Tonya Hurley
What life experience led you to write about a girl who cannot be seen by her peers?
"Ghostgirl is about feeling invisible and I think we can all relate to that feeling at some point in our lives. We all want to be accepted for who we are. To find someone who sees us and loves us just as we are."
